3 Healthy, Nutritional & Tasty Smoothie Ideas

Hello!

Over the last couple of weeks I have been obsessed with having smoothies for breakfast! I have loved experimenting with different vegetables, fruits and seeds to create deliciously, nutritional breakfast smoothies. I thought I'd share three of my favourites I have been loving recently... Enjoy!


Ingredients: serves one

1/2 of one Avocado
1/2 of one Melon
Handful of Blueberries
Handful of Kale
1TBS of Chia Seeds

Water, Coconut water, Milk (Optional)



Ingredients: serves one

8-10 de-stoned Apricots
1 Banana
Handful of Kale
2-3 TBS Rolled Oats
1TBS Chia Seeds
1TSP Honey

Water, Coconut Water, Milk (Optional)



Ingredients: serves one

1 Banana
Handful of Kale
4-5 Strawberries
Handful of Blueberries
1TBS Chia Seeds
1TSP Honey

Water, Coconut Water, Milk (Optional)

Method: (can be used for any recipe of your choice)

Add all ingredients to a blender/ smoothie maker, making sure the Oats, Chia Seeds and Honey are added last. If any of these three ingredients are added first, they may stick to the bottom of your appliance and not get fully blended with the other ingredients. Add about 200ml of your choice of liquid, whether it be water, coconut water, milk or a milk alternative. I like to use almond milk, but any milk can be used whether it is cows milk, hazlenut, soya... the choice is yours! The amount of liquid can be adjusted, just like any of the ingredients, based on your own taste. You may find more liquid is needed if the smoothie is too thick. Likewise, you may prefer to use less liquid if you enjoy your smoothies to be a little thicker. Now, just blend and enjoy!

This is what I love most about smoothies, you do not need exact quantities, just a choice of fruits, vegetables, oats and seeds that you like and experiment, creating nutritious smoothies to enjoy time and time again! You can even add yogurt, ice cubes or even herbs and spices... again, dpending on your preference.
